Damaged brake line help

Hi Guys.

I have a damaged brake line that is just under the drivers seat. For some reason it has got squashed. The damage is on a straight piece of pipe.

I was wondering if the whole section of pipe has to be replaced or can i cut out the damaged piece and replace with a new piece.

You can either cut out that section, buy new fittings and brake line, (copper) and replace that section.

The only issue is, OEM brake line, (steel) is quite hard, and not easy to flare the ends, especially with a hand tool.

Or, replace the complete section, at the terminating ends.

I believe someone has mashed the brake line with a trolley jack, or vehicle lift.

Ive successively used an ebay brake pipe flaring tool to flare standard steel pipe before. Just make sure you buy a decent quality tool and your laughing. I had to do full rears on a V6 vectra and couldn;t easily get at the good pipes behind the engine so replaced them from the underside back.

machine mart brake pipe flaring kit £30 ish
copper hose and fitting £20 tops and you will have more hose than the car.
few parctice goes and you will be an expert.

not tricky and will save yourself a lot
