Hi All,

first post on this forum, so thanks in anticipation for your help.

Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the bulbs that illuminate the display windows on the climate control unit in a '96 A4? The display on the right for fan speed etc no longer illuminates an I am assuming a bulb has gone.

If it is possible to replace the bulb, can anyone please direct me to a thread that will tell me how to get the climate control unit out of the dash. I have spent the last hour searching without luck.

Cheers

Try calling up a local dealer and see what they recommend. Hopefully its nothing like reaplacing the cluster guage.

Found the answer to my own question.

Yes it is possible to replace just the bulbs in the climate unit.

There are 4 of them. You have to remove the radio to get the centre console fascia off, then you can get the climate unit out enough to see the rear of the four bulbs in the unit. These come out with just a quarter turn.

Spunn, do you know of any way to get the stock radio out without having to buy the "radio removal tools" sold on ebay or by dealer? I'm looking for something more on the lines of at home tools.
