s4 brakes

Hello all,

Im thinking about up grading my brakes on my 1.9tdi se 1996 audi a4 avant.
Iv come across a set of s4 brakes, can anybody tell me what diametre s4 dics are and there thickness?
would i be able to use my calipers with the s4 caliper brakets or are the dimentions slightly different.

any advice welcome thanks for your time

Don't think the carriers will fit as the S4 hubs are different.

The discs are 321mm diameter, 30mm thick. I believe, although don't hold me to that!

I have a pair of standard 1999 S4 calipers for sale now if you get stuck

s4 caliper brackets not compatible with your caliper.

s4 calipers and brackets won't fit to your hubs.

s4 hubs and bearings, may not be compatible with your driveshafts.

so probably best upgrade is 312mm discs from 2002 a4 3.0Q

312mm caliper brackets from vagparts/seat leon/audi TT/Golf to mount your calipers on, i think (this works for 1.8T, i think calipers maybe the same)

im going to order the 312mm carriers and get some 312mm discs from the 2002 audi at 3.0 Q

just a quick up date,

iv done some research into the sizes of various Audi discs.

the current sizes are as follows (audi a4 1996 1.9 tdi se)

O/D 288
Thickness 25
Height 46
Front Bore 68
Rear Bore 135
PCD 112

The only 312mm discs that come close to fitting have the following sizes

O/D 312
Thickness 25
Height 46
Front Bore 68
Rear Bore 158 Different
PCD 114.3 Diffrerent


However im just going to machine a rear spiget ring for the discs with a tight tolerance and uses a press to slide them in.
Then ill use a rotary index table to re PCD the discs to 112mm.

That is unless anybody knows an easyer way!

but the b6 a4 3.0 quattro discs have a pcd of 112mm, not sure about the height, but plenty people have fitted them.
