S4 EPC Light?

I was stuck in traffic on the severn bridge today, creeping along after some idiot crashed, when the car started to jerk a little. It gave a cough then the EPC light came on. The car seemed to drive a lot smoother for the 20 mins to get to work, if a little down on power.

Started it up after work, no EPC light. What's that all about?

Sounds like an intermittent / random missfire. Could point to a faulty coilpack/s or power output stage.

Depending on how long the missfire was, the ECU may not retain the register in it's memory permanently, unless it becomes more regular, and the missfire durations become longer.

Worth getting the codes read, before it becomes more of an issue.
