The mounting "foot" has a completely different shape to the B5.
It MAY be possible to mount the S8 casing onto a B5 stub.

I was thinking along these lines as the a8/s8 mirrors are listed with an 8do part number.I can't get any proper s4 ones for a decent price and these s8 ones have come up for a very good price !!

Sienna is right about the mount being different (not that i doubted it !!) . Didnt go quite according to plan as the o/s mirror was just a standard plastic one painted silver but at least i got the proper alloy n/s mirror and it only cost £20.
. The mirror housing is almost a direct swap over apart from the lug where the housing sits on the moung is a slightly different shape and needs filing out slightly. All i need now is a chrome o/s mirror housing and im sorted !!
