How can I tell (by looking at it) if the car i've bought is a 12v or 30v ?

Possibly something I should have investigated before i bought the car.. but i didnt..

how can i tell ?

thnks

i've just seen in the pics thread..

it should say V6 & on another part of the cover 5v = the 30v if it is a 30v - now waiting & hoping that when i check at lunch it has the 5v mark on the cover..

LOL at me

...Or engine code.

2.8V6 -12V = AAH
2.8V6 -30V = ACK

Any more doubts, PM me your chassis number, and I'll give you all the info.

Or look on the sticker in the spare wheel well, if it's 30v it'll be 142kW (193bhp)

Yippee !!

I have V6 5V cover & a spare wheel well sticker with 142kw on - so I'm chuffed. Its not a quattro but has only done 90k with fsh. I got it this week for £1100, which I thought was a bargain.

I was worried it wasnt the 193bhp as its on a P reg 1st registered in Jan 97..

Thanks folks
