Fitting Genuine LED torch in early B5's?

Just wondering if anyone has fitted one of those Genuine Audi LED torches that 'live' in the cigarette lighter socket to their early B5?
I've seen them on Ebay but the ads say they fit all Audi models 2000 onwards so am a bit a reluctant to buy one as my car is a '99 and don't want to waste 20 quid needlessly if it doesn't fit!
Anyone know for sure what the score is?

I know the facelift car's lighter doesnt fit the pre facelift car's if thats any help !!

Vagparts also have them (£14.84) but they state it fits only Audis from 2000 onwards:

I think that as the facelift model lighter does not fit the pre-facelift it is a pointer towards the torch not fitting the pre-facelift cars.
Was not aware of any difference in lighters prior to this thread, but that's the only reason I can think of VagParts et al saying the torch would only fit 2000-onwards cars.

I tried the facelift lighter in my 98 cars socket and it just blew the fuse straight away and i think was a slightly diffferent size as well.
