Looking for some pointers on how the idle is up and down on my 1.8T engine. Engine runs fine but at traffic lights/junctions the idle drops and goes up and down. Not had it on Vagcom but will be looking to do so soon.

Thanks in advance

Craig

idle speed control valve? either that or a MAF fault

Could be a split breather hose as well as the above ^^^^

There is a plastic hose under the intake that is like an L shape that can brake in the middle this was gone on my car and causeing a ruff idle and a bit of hunting.

cheers for the replies
at the moment no EM light flashing up.
MPG i am getting around 300 to 330mile to a full tank to about 20mile left on range. Is this about right for a standard car.????

Yeah thats good i get about that and somtimes i once got 360:) that was with a dead turbo as well.

Have a look at the hoses and that one under the inlet mani and then try and get VAGCOM hooked up.

cool so not to far out with the MPG.

Is there any point in changing the inlet manifold to the same as found on the Seat, VW. ( the one with the Throttle body at the end instead of the one like the URS4 AAN engine)

Oh and the gearing is longer than i thought with 18" wheels in 3rd 105mph before limiter.......
