1.8T Turbo Ticking?

I've noticed a metalic chattering/ticking noise coming off my 99 1.8T Quattro. It only happened when I put the power down and the turbo kicked in and would get faster as the engine revs increased until I took my foot off the throttle. It sounded like a metal fan or vane hitting off something and i'm assuming it is inside the turbo. Now the chattering has stopped but also the turbo kick has went with it. Don't know any good specialists in N.Ireland and do not want to get ripped off by the Audi dealer. Any ideas?

Dont want to alarm you but that sounds like my old car that went bang. Really bad ticky noise is how it started, then i blasted it cold and destroyed it.

I would at the very least get it looked at asap, of course its impossible to diagnose a fault like that via a description.

Hopefully something simple, I gave mine alot of abuse before i saw problems
