Hi. I have started getting some clutch judder in first gear when pulling away. It is more apparent if i am gentle with the acceleration. If i lift the clutch at 2000 rpm and above it seems ok but under this and it judders a bit. Is this something to be concerned about and if I will need a new clutch can anyone advise on the best people to contact as Audi claim it is about 8 hrs to get to it and not up for that sort of cost.

Cheers

Well the clutch shouldn't judder and judder in the circumstance you describe is a sign of wear so far as I know.

Unless you have a stock car power wise and are planning long term to keep it that way an RS4 clutch makes sense.

Eitherway a suitable inderpendant specialist is what you require.

From Surrey, I am not sure who is the closest, but the ususal suspects spring to mind as reasonable travel - QST, MRC, APS, Dialynx. Personally have only used MRC and APS, both very good.

Are you sure it's the clutch and not worn engine or gearbox mounts?

Either way, it's not sounding like it will be a cheap resolution... welcome to the world of the S4!
