Hi, Ive started lowering my car this evening, ran into a problem compressings springs and decided I could no longer be bothered with the hassle so Ill probably get the garage to do it, I know someone aswell who says they will do it for me but, am I right in thinking that lowering my car may cause uneven tyre wear and that it needs adjusting to stop this? What exactly is adjusted? Is it just tracking?
Thanks.

i'm led to believe that nothing needs to be changed because of the A4 double wishbone suspension set up. i'm still gonna get mine checked when i've done mine. it might be out already!

Mac, Where could this be done? What should I expect it to cost?
Thanks for replies.

Costs about £70. I got laser alignment done at Awesome GTI recently. Mine wasn't actually too far out and it's nearly 9 years old. Also fitted some uprated ARBs recently which I thought might have kicked the alignment out, but it obviously hadn't.

A lot of people rave about places with Beissbarth (I think) machines for these cars. Might be worth googling to see if there are any near you.

I always have the alignment checked after any sort of lower. They guys at my local tyres place do it for nothing with the laser set up stuff so it depends where and who for prices.

When I had mine done it cost £50, but that was 4 years ago...would guess at blue_thunders estimate of £70 now though. Try Yell.com for finding a local wheel alignment specialist.

Ok, thankyou for replies, appreciate that.
