    Independent Audi Garages in Norfolk

    Hi,

I have an A4 QTS. My local audi dealer has advised me that the rear driveshaft seal has gone and is leaking oil, they have recommended it is replaced ASAP. I was quoted 185 quid and, given my reluctance to line the dealers pockets, have decided to look elsewhere for the job to be completed.
Can anyone recommend any independent audi garages in Norfolk please? And can you give a rough view of the overall cost?

    Many thanks for the advice.

Where abouts in Norfolk are you mate-I`m in Norwich,if you are near by you could try Norwich VW Center-they are pretty good and half the price of Norwich Audi-the chaps there are trained at the Dealers anyway so they know what they are doing. My car is now 4 years old so this is the last service I will have done at the Stealers then the next one I will use them

The number for Norwich Caslegate(which is the Seat dealer) is 01603 480200 you then ask to be put through to the VW Center which is on the same place- if you ask for David,he is the guy that runs that side.

I have to say i had a bad experience there (about 6 years ago) that cost me 800 for no remedial work to take place, and they took a long time over it too. Their labour prices were not that much cheaper than VAG. I've never been back since.

Similarly, i don't use "mr beetle" either as i have had experiences there too.

The place I going to use next is a chap called Clive Atthowe, down salhouse road in norwich. He won best mechanic 2007, which i guess counts for something.

his experience is apparently one of the best, and had VAG experience. He also has a 4wd dyno.

I have also used Clive with a previous car and found that he was really expensive...at the same time he is very good, and has all the top equipment etc-I guess you will just have to have a ring round and get some prices...good luck-I hope one of them can help.

Thanks chaps, will give them all a call and decide on the best price.

I did contact Yelverton Garage today and they quoted me 100 + vat (compared to 185 at Robinsons). They seemed to know what they were talking about and are VAG specialists, either of you heard of them?

Try this chap,(Kevin Jolliffe), its out in the sticks, but people travel far and wide to use him. Can't remember the name of his business, but he is an Audi specialist. I use him for parts mainly, as I haven't had anything go wrong I couldn't fix myself! 01328 838295
(Don't forget to say I mentioned him, and that I said he'd give you a good price!)

Yep, kevin is good too. I was at his garage last weekend! I have used him before for my MK2 golf. He's a bit far away from me now, but he knows his stuff. My in-laws have had all their last audi's from him as they live 1 mile down the road.

The name of his garage is "West Raynham Auto Clinic".
