1998 audi a3 1.8t- Engine Problem

Hi all,

I need some urgent help, i was driving home the other day and i selected 3rd gear and the engine started to judder, so i decided to nock down into second and it still juddered, i stopped the car and i noticed while the car was idling the engine was still juddering in neutral, i revved the engine and the juddering dissapeard, but back on idle it was still juddering, i turned the engine off and on and the juddering dissapeard, since then the engine feels a bit sluggish, and when i accelorate i can hear the turbo spin up but at the same time i can hear a tapping noise as tho something is loose, i really dont know what could be wrong, some people say clutch, and some say ignition packs, if anyone can help me, it would be much apreciated.

If it was a coil pack that had gone then the car would not feel slugish it would just not drive very well at all and miss fire not judder.

Any idea from where abouts you can hear the tapping noise?
