Hi,

You do not need to upgrade the exhaust when chipping... this can be done at a later date/if ever... depends qhat you want.

The best DV's to go for are the Forge valve (FMDV007P), the Stratmosphere Hyperboost or the AmD Viper valve.

I can however, supply you with the forge valve for £64.40+vat/del.

Aye Gambba list is and comments are pretty fair.

In my last AMD chipped S4 I bought two Stratosphere DVs. I personally think they were a waist of money. The very thing the purport to do is increase performance over the stock Bosch valves during shifting by preventing lag. - ******** they are actually slower and always will be so long as they use a piston type over the considerably larger port of a diaphragm Bosch type. However, and it is a big however, they are way more reliable, and serviceable.

If you only need one, then it's not a lot of money and swap from stock to aftermarket to see the difference. Then you decide.

Again I know from personal experience that I personally would have got very little noticeable hp/torque increase from say a Milltek CAT back exhaust. So much so that Milltek were not prepared to take the challenge and send an exhaust to my local tuner which I would have paid for up front only on the basis that they would refund my money if I didn't see at least a 5bhp increase in my chipped S4, which in theory should benifit the most from a more free flowing exhaust. - Interesting isn't it. :0

Has anyone heard of TurboChips???? (www.turbochip.com) The london dealer of Revo recommended them (SPS), but the turbochip website is uninspiring and does not provide any performance details and it would appear that SPS (simple performance solutions) is the one and same as commercial power solutions ltd which are Turbochips?? ie are SPS a dealer or actually the company themselves.

In any event has anyone heard of them - especially for an S4?

Never heard of turbochips.

Why have Revo suggested a diesel tuning company to the owner of an S4??? These guys appear to be only interested in turbo diesels.

Some of the smaller companies appear to be ok for chip tuning diesels, but I still believe you get whats you pays for....so stick to the main stream guys, don't skimp.

Definately... Its worth the extra for a quality product from a company who has been specialising in tuning the particular car for many years.

Consider the cost of a new/exchange 2.7 bi-turbo engine or even to remove and replace turbos etc. It's thousands to do anything to these engines.

The 2.7 Bi turbo is prone to a number of minor but annoying frustrating and difficult to source problems. For your own piece of mind its best left to the established experienced tuners who you know from word of mouth offer a good service.
