Cv joint /drive shaft

Ive been getting a knocking from the front n/s of my car and when washing it today noticed that the wheel is covered in grease on the inside so im pretty sure the boot has split and damaged the cv joint. What i need to know is will a drive shaft off a 99 face lift 1.8se fit my pre facelift 1.8 T sport as the breakers down the road has one in for spares ??

Anyone got any idea's where i can find out it this is going to fit ??

why dont you just fit a new cv joint there only about 45 quid and its around an hours work.
