New S4,

high miles but full history. It's always been a niggle, knowing i had the next best thing. Now i have the best. It's also funny that the insurance is 885 where the 286bhp M3 was 1220!

Sweet car, bet you can't wait to take it for a drive! Insurance is a rip off what ever you have, but it is strange, maybe Audi drivers are less of a risk than BMW drivers.

Yea, i'll take it straight for a drive to ChippedUK :) I bought it more for the tuning potential than the 265 ponies standard. My 2.8's pushing 210, but the manual box should make a difference.

please don't, you really need to take it to a specialist who knows these cars. it want's a full health check by somebody who is familier with the way these cars work. a one stop tuning shop just won't have enough experience to help you effectively

get it to MRC in Banbury then get them to pop a custom map on it after they've checked it out.

looks nice by the way, best price i've seen for one

lol it's a shame most of MRC's website it "comming soon"

that's because they're pretty busy working rather than creating fancy websites, honestly, give them a ring, they really know their stuff, they specialise in the VAG group cars and know them inside and out. i'd hate for you to pick it up and then pop a turbo because you had a boost leak. after getting the car for so little another 500 quid for a health check and custom map isn't going to be the end of the world.

Yes, i know your right, i will do asap.

U may wanna sort that suspension out, far too high at the back, makes for very dodgy handling.

i had my 2.8 lowered only 3 months ago, i way swap the springs over!

Then only reason i can see for the rear being slightly higher is the car being on a slight downward gradient, we'll see when i get it on level ground.

nice, man ive dreamed of owning an s4 for the last 8 years or so, ever since i got the chance to drive one at an open day at vindis audi. had hog roast too which was a bonus. maybe one day. congrats on the new ride. and like others have said more pics when u can.

I've picked it up.

A few things he didn't stick in his listing.

Needs a new Display, 80% gone.

Needs exhaust looking at as it's loose.

Rear suspension seems to high.

Air con regassing i think coolish but not cold enough, i know what it should feel like.

Arm rest lid has one hindge broken, trying to superglue it now but don't hold out much hope.

Other than that it seems tip top.

Its got the Kraft alloys off of the B6 A4 on it, same as mine.

yes, wonder what happened to the originals! anyone remember how much it costs or the best way to swap the LCD display?

The suspension alright? Looks low at the front and jacked up at the back.

Maybe the drive though.

Looks nice though and a very nice price.

Once MRC have there mitts on it it should be rapid. And you will have peace of mind to.

The dash display I think is big bucks. I would not bother with it tbh.

Suspension just get some coilovers and lower it. Maybe MRC will see whats up with it when you take it to them.

You should also get the precats gutted to release some more horses.

I haad a quote for £250 fitted for the display from Audi..........by the way, nice motor :)

I'd pay 250 to have it done.

I also need centre arm rest in black leather, this one is broken.

I *Think* it's been remapped already. It's Rapid and i mean rapid! the previous owner bought it for his Wife only 7 weeks ago, he paid 6500. She wouldn't drive it! so i got a steal! he had trade guys offering him 5500! at that was to stick back on the forecourt for profit.

It has a clonking Exhaust issue i need sorting too.

Not sure about the suspension, it is a little high at the real, my mechanic's comming round tuesday to mot my 2.8,

TBH i don't want to spend £££ on coilovers. i'll see what Ian says on tuesday

I won't be handing over the reddies until they've rolling road it to see it's output! not paying to have it done if it's been done already.

I'll kill myself if it's stock and i have it remapped!

top bloke, you won't regret it. lets know what you think of their "rolling road"

Definately the right decision. Have fun on the 'hill'!

Very jealous - my 180 horses are feeling a bit lame after a year of ownership... :3sadwalk:

Welcome to the S4 club dude

Thank GOD you're not taking it to ChippedUK.

they don't have one, what they do is real world mapping on a test track. they will be able to tell you if it's mapped already by the amount of timing and, boost and airflow you have.

a generic MRC remap will give about 290 to 300bhp, the custom map is 310 but can be up to 325 depending on the state of the engine. with the custom map they will tweak the engine parameters to get the most out of it whilst still leaving the driveabillity and realliability. there's one guy on RS246 with an MRC custom map that equates to over 340bhp. mine is mapped for more timing rather than boost to preserve the turbos, as i've said before there's more than one way to skin a cat. just make sure you have some decent petrol in, V-power or tesco 99 as poor fuel will limit the amount of timing

after a 2.8 an S4 will feel incredibly rapid, as graham says, you want to hope it isn't mapped because the difference again is phenominal.

they've done lots of work on pretty much all the Audi / VW / Seat stable and i've yet to speak to anyone who's been dissapointed

Awesome car M8 A big congrats you jammy Git!
Insurance will be a killer I would say,

you think?

26 five years no claims. 3 accidents in 5 years ( 2 fault, will be 1 fault come August this year) 3 points sp30

Now the bmw m3 i was looking at becuase i couldn't afford an S4 was:

£1220 for non evo (286bhp)
£1450 for Evo (321bhp)

I paid £735 Full comp for my 2.8Q

New price with S4???

£885! not bad in my book!

Now your asking.........Admiral i think! Usually the big players don't want to know!

Welcome to the S4 club! :applaus:

You have a lot of fun ahead of you...especially after you've been to see the boys at MRC - wise decision, you won't regret it!

I dunno mate! Guess it must be one of ours...
(If there's an Off Topic rule on here, we're totally busted! )

I pay 420 for my insurance. 34. no accidents. no points since the 9 my fiat coupe got me dropped of my licence. parked on drive.

not bad eh?

she wont let me buy a 911 though..

I think it would be more like £600 had i a clean record.

2 fault accidents in 9 years of driving. both minor knocks. Still.. It's not bad for my age.

Oh BTW that £885 is standard car not mapped.
