What would you recommend for a runabout?

Hi guys, I'm thinking of getting a cheap 2nd car for piling miles on and keeping my A4 spotless. Any ideas? My budget is about 1500 quid. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif I'm 6"3 tho... so small cars like the beat/mr2/etc won't fit.
