Sloppy Gear Change?

my gear change could be a little less sloppy and more direct. i'm guessing that these are cable change.

i changed all the bushes and rods in my mk2 golf, but i know nothing about the cable shifters...

please help

i think they're rod chainge actually. mines a bit sloppy but couldnt be ***** to look for whats loose lol.

rod change, there are some bushes you can replace in the base of the shifter, also on mine the ball that it pivots on was quite loose, not sure if new gearstick would help this. mines a bit better now i fitted the B&M shifter, but this on my a4 1.8T atleast involved using old pivot ball, there is various rod mechanisms on the A4 depending on if you have the audi factory short shift or not,.

^^ what he said ^^ to add the Ebay £30 B&m copy short shift is well worth a punt IMO
