Avant rear lights

I want to give my 2001 Avant a makeover - nothing flash, just change its looks a bit. I found these rear lights on ebay (the silver ones 'cos it's a silver car). Has anyone fitted them? What do they look like?

I like the black units better.

I had similar black lights on a black GTI and they looked good but this being a silver car I thought they might look like blackheads on a blonde.....
