Battery Reset Problems

Hi,

I sold my A4 in August but have came back for some advice as my friend who has bought it has a couple of problems..
He had to recharge the battery, upon connecting it back up OIL now flashes where the mileage is, any idea why? Oil levels are fine!
Secondly, the steering lock does not come on. It came on before but now you can just turn the steering wheel and it does`nt come on

Any help/advice appreciated

I can`t help him too much as the car is now living down south

"Oil" where the mileage is, is telling him that it needs an oil service, nothing to worry about. Tell him to RTFM.
