Ive asked the guy and this is what he said :
The egr/sai system is used to inject air into the exhaust system to warm the cat up quicker and help fuel economy/emissions for the first few miles on a cold start. I found mine to be the cause of rough idling/running so deicded to remove the whole system. The blanking plate allows you to remove the combi valve, pump and associated pipework in the 20vt engine bay. It makes the engine bay look cleaner and oil changes are a breeze now. These blanking plates are very hard to find in the UK, but the EGR removal is very common in the states.... who are miles ahead of europe in the 20vt devolpment.
