    Lowering my motor

I'm happy with my sports suspension but it's a little high i feel.

What exactly would i need to lower it, i don't want to ruin the ride or swap a lower profile for inferior products, what kind of cash are we looking at?

Depending how many miles your shocks have done you could go for one of the following options:

After market lowering springs with your standard shocks (around 125+)

After market full kit (around 325+)

    After market coilovers (around 500+)

i fitted lowering springs on my old a4 tdi and it looked really nice but it handled absolutly s*ite afterwards, the front bobbed up and down like a boat and potholes sent it all over the place! did it on my audi 90 quattro 20v too and that was the same. now id only consider a proper kit with matched shocks. the standard shocks dont last long with the extra work of stiff springs and were leaking in no time.

I found springs a really bad ride on standard shocks. Its a better ride on coilovers.

I would say springs work best on sport shocks best as I did this to my none sport shock 2.8 and suffered the bouncing issue although not as bad as stated above but on the 1.8Tq sport shocks they work great and no bouncing at all.

The best thing i ever did was migrate to coilovers, the ride is firm but not too hard, and the handling is excellent.

Its like night and day to the sensatrac shock/Eibach spring combo i had before

I'm looking at a lowering spring set on my A4. It does sit rather high and wallows a bit (probably all needs replacing at 140k!)
