Immobiliser question. Quite urgent.

I'm sure if I searched harder I would find what I'm looking for but I need a definitive answer from one of you B5 lot.

Would a 'W' reg 1.8T A4 come with an immobiliser as standard? ie basically impossible to nick without a) the keys or b) some seriously tricky software or c) a low loader.

I may be in time to stop a mate of mine doing something really, really stupid.

Answers by PM if you prefer but I really do need an answer.

I'll just say that he's a good mate, financially at the end of his tether and who doesn't know very much about his own car.

Nothing for the members on here or anywhere else to worry about.

I think docurley gave me the info I need and if mods want to erase this thread then by all means go ahead.
