I have an AUDI A4 1.9TDI 53 Plate.

I dropped it of at Audi in Chesterfield for an Aircon fault, it took them 3 weeks to fix, while it was with AUDI the warranty ran out on the vehicle I went to collect the car and the central locking would not work. They told me water had got into the ECU causing the central locking not to work correctly.
They contacted me 3 days later to tell me it was all sorted except the AIR BAG light was staying on for 10 minuets then going off but because the car had been chipped they would not cover this as it needed a new Dash and ECU as some information had got corrupt between the dash computer and the ECU, This work would cost £1200 + Labour.

So basically I dropped my car off with one fault and it came back with another two

Does any one know if having a chip on a car would cause the AIRBAG Light to be affected or is AUDI trying to have me over? They new the car was chipped how can they opt in and out of warranty doing one job but refusing another at will

Has anyone any ideas

Thanks

Dan

Sounds like the dealer is having a complete laugh.
the 2 new faults only occurred under their care so should all be covered under warranty (whether it ran out or not during that period).
Chip is irrelevant in this case, so they should at least offer to put it back to standard form, obviously they can't rechip it for you if the data is lost (but it was them that lost the data).

I replied in the other post. Get hold of the busines manager at the dealer and sit down with him, explain your case, try get the dealer to sort it first. If that fails find out who owns the dealeship - they are generally owned by a larger group that owns many dealerships in the area. Speak to someone seniour there. If that fails then contact Audi UK Customer services - but leave this for last! Dont deal with Julie-anne Swallows - f'ing useless! My experience everytime I have gone to Audi CS has been a waste of my time, they just have no itnerest in helping out. I FKIN HATE THEM! Best solving your case without them if at all possible, else if they say no then you may have burnt your bridges with the dealership/owners. But you may get someone who helps you out. Good luck mate.
