    longlife oil

hi all i have a 2.4v6 2000 facelift which has variable service 'feature' i dont really want to keep 'paying through the nose' for the castrol longlife oil II. does anyone use any other type of oil they would recommend? it as done around 52k miles. i get it serviced at my local garage (not audi).

    any advice guys?

    TIA

The longlife II has been replaced by castrol edge which is about £15 a litre still. As far as i know it the only oil they reccomend but ive got a book of suggested oils at work i'll check on which oil you can use.

well when you stick £50 of fuel into it every other week/day I have always seen £30 on an oil change every few months as not a huge issue and the least I could do to make sure I get my money's worth out of the car. Costco have Mobil 1 on special BTW £22 for 4 litres

Looked in the castrol book today and it recommends longlife II but you can also use Gtx magnatec 10w/40 which is about £25 for 4.5 litres.
