I did, on my old 80 Avant and everything was fine.....
When I bought my A4 last Autumn I too tried registering the car but the Audi UK records were still showing the last owner as the keeper......
It was an absolute ****** nightmare getting the A4 registered, lost count of the number of times I ended up speaking to customer services in Milton Keynes, who frequently admitted the 'my Audi' part of the website was so crap it didn't function most of the time!!!!!
To be honest, looking back I wouldn't bother with all the aggro, as long as you have the data sticker from inside the boot/service booklet its quite easy to decode all the extras that the car came with.....

Yeah I think I called and they wanted me to send a photocopy of my V5 in.

Noticed that the 'my audi' is nuder re-construction...

Skanky - Cheers, good link that. A lot of the codes are not very specific stuff like disc brakes on the rear etc. but informative.
