Good evening fellas,

As the title says, I was wondering exactly what this entails? Planning on giving the old throttle body the cleaning of it's life in the next few days but also want to do the whole kit and kaboodle and do the adaptation too.

I've done a search (to no avail) and checked the FAQ section but not found any specifics of how/what to do.

Any chance someone could enlighten me? Does it include VAGcom?

Thanks in advance,

Justin

I think there is some info on the ross tech site.

I also think you need vag com or a vag tool.

Cheers Mark, will have a looky there. Had a sneaking suspicion that it involved using VAGcom!!

Cheers again Mark, managed to find this on Ross-Tech:

linky

Gonna give the TB a clean and then find someone with VAGcom to sort the alignment.

I've been considering having a go at this, let us know how you get on.....

On my 1997 1.8SE the throttle will align itself if you turn the ignition on for at least 6 or 8 secs without starting the engine or touching the accelerator pedal. After this time you can hear the throttle motor running and when it stops the adaptation is complete.

Sorry for resurrecting such an old post. Thought it useful anyway.
