brake pad warning wires??

Hey i`m thinking of new discs and pads and notice some kits come with brake pad warning wires and others dont.. i have a 1998 a4 b5 1.8t sport. do i need wires or not? thanks guys.

I think you will need wires, my car has them but the pads I bought came without them. The numb-nut who fitted them performed some awful bodge using the wires from my old pads and now a wire has snapped away from the plug giving me that awful warning beep and a brake light on the DIS every time I turn the ignition on! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

mines the other way round i bought green stuff all round with warning wires on them. when i fitted them theres no connection for them on my car and oe pads didnt have them on
