Rather stupidly think i ran out of fuel!

98' A4 19tdi Avant, slowly coasted to a halt in my works car park, so went and got some more fuel but no joy. Engine crank's but does not fire.

I think I may have an air-lock, and have heared that there may be a bleed valve in the engine...but where??

Any help advice would be great.

I had this other day!! low fuel in tank...car completely cut out. turned over but no fire....all i did was disconnect battery for 5mins and it reset ec.

Car started fine and ran fine but the 'glow plug' indicator started flashing after 30secs....indicating a fault.

upon pluggin in my laptop with vag-com it had two faults logged...

misfire on cylinder 3 due to lack of fuel
&
low fuel sensor activated.

cleared them and now the car is back to normal.
So if you dont have vag-com you may be in for a visit to the stealers and pay for a complete clear of the fault codes.
