What to check up on a facelift S4?

    Hello all,

As per my last post - I have just picked up a very nice S4... (Sort of)

What do I need to check out on the car... obv the bearing arms. This is a facelift, so the turbo pipe thing does not apply does it?

Check the throttle body boot for splits, and also, if it had its original turbos swapped? They were sorted FOC by audi i believe as they failed.

What do you mean by the "turbo pipe thing"?

You should have it fully looked over - by an independent specialist in my view - the people who are passionate about these cars.

One of the most important things is checking for air leaks a simple test and usually easily fixed, but can save you '000's if it keeps the turbos in good order.

Also get VAGCOM on it to see if it throws any DTC's

Rich... tell me more. Is there documentation about the turbos and being replaced? I will ask the dealer to do this too.

I will get the car fully checked over for air leaks by a specialist - probably pay AMD a visit so they can stick it on the rollers and have a tinker

The bearings failed resulting in excessive shaft play... Im not 100% sure if they were a recall, or just covered on warranty. Might be worth a bit of investigation though. If they fail...chuck some K04's on and have yourself a cool 450bhp
