fl front upright

just finished fitting a new ABS sensor yo my 99 FL and have ran into a problem...

The sensor i got has 2 cables on it, a black and a red one

I know the black one goes to the sensor but where does the red one go??

On my dash the abs light is now out but it is showing a brake symbol

Is the red one meant to be plugged up to the caliper or am i doing something wrong

Personally i think someone has replaced the upright or caliper with the wrong item

Red one is for brake pad wear warning.

seems like previous owner replaced the pads with ones without the sensor

If you have vagcom just code it out.

You cant code it out on the later cars with digital clock.

Just short the wires together.

Just went out and bought new pads with the sensor to find out...

THEY DONT FIT

used the reg plate to order them and they are too small

Ithink that the previous owner has uprated the brakes on the front so now i have to find out what they were upgraded to and see if i can get pads withthe sensor to fit

Done this and no more warnings on the dash
