    Facelift Alarm

Anyone ever fitted a facelift alarm siren to a PFL to remove the crap horn?

The problem with the FL siren is that you'll have to buy a new one, they will all have packed up by now in scrapped cars.
I think there's a battery inside them that leaks and corrodes them to death inside.
I may be wrong, but I've not found a working replacement yet in a scrapper.

You cant swap it because the old one is just a two wire horn, whereas the newer one is a electronic box with a bus interface etc.

I thaught all cars with RCL had the later siern though?

    Not mine.
I got RCL, wee button on the B pillar and my pump receives the boot popper button.

I understand its got electronic box and stuff to it.

How does that fit in with the pump?
    What needs wiring in?

I'm not worry bout the batteries.
I can try and hunt one down.

It's not the battery that are the problem it's the acid that comes out of them and destroys the circuit board, there is so much damage it's not repairable.

Going by ELSA PFL alarm has 2 cables.
    B1 and ground.
    The FL has 3 cables.
    B1, 12v and ground.

If the B1 cable sends the same signal it should be easier enough to do with just fitting a 12v feed for it.

Apparently any ciren from a Audi will fit.
It should make it easier in finding one that's not fubar.
