battery change a4 avant

hi guys need to change my battery as its virtually dead after a day of standing....checked voltage with multimeter and with the car running its on 14.4 volts so it seems the alternator is okay got a new battery delivered yesterday had a look and it looks tight to get the battery out unless you remove the plastic scuttle panel is this correct or not?

You could try and remove it with the scuttle in place but you will most likely damage the scuttle trying to take the battery out (I did). I always remove the scuttle now.

Pull the scuttle plate off.
Its better to give you space than damaging something.

Scuttle needs to come off. It's a long stretch over the engine with a big battery (mine is an 85Ah from VW, £40 cheaper than an 82Ah from Audi)
