Got my VCDS working - what now?

Thanks to a few pointers from Aragorn I have got VCDS to talk to my car now through an ebay lead. Not the strongest connection, but it seemed to communicate with everything OK. Any idea what causes a poor / slow connection?

Id like to know if the MAF is operating correctly, how do I see what its reading? Is there anything else worth scanning to check its healthy?

Its nice to know I can now scan the car should I need to.

Go into the engine ecu, them measuring blocks and scroll through the channels and it will say MAF g/s iirc
