Viewing a '98 1.8t sport - what to look for

Hi there guys

Looking at a 98 A4 1.8t today. What are the first things I should check and look out for?

Any help / advise appreciated

aircon - make sure it works.
climate display - make sure all segments work, and it doesn't lock up.
power steering, make sure it doesn't gurgle when on full lock to full lock.
front end - make sure it doesn't creak from the control arms.

theyr're the B5 specific problems i had with mine.

other than those, just check the usual.

Spare Wheel / Jack / toolbag / wrench, Locking Wheel nut Key, Central locking (remote) works on all doors / boot, damp carpets in footwells etc., illumination (if possible to view at night) etc. etc.

A sneaky one that isn't a problem witht he car, but more the driver, but may not be checked! I looked under the Matts of mine, for general wear on floor carpets, to notice under the driver seat a great big whopping hole!

Basically looked like someone had worn stilletoes quite often and evenctually gone through the floor! Then hidden it with a Matt!!
