A4 Avant towbar.

Hi All,
New to this site hoping someone can answer a question for me please.
I have a 2000 A4 avant looking to fit a towbar, I have been offered a towbar from a B5 saloon. the seller tells me that it will fit the estate but i'm not so sure. Does any know for sure?

If the mounts are the same I assume it will.
Not sure why it wont?


P.S. Can someone move this to the B5 section please?

I didn't know there is a B5 section and I dont know how to find it.
Just didn't want to buy it, take the rear end apart to find that the mountings are different.

I'm not sure on the rear end difference that the tow bar bolts in to.
I've only ever seen an avant's naked ***.
Hopefully someone will be along to give you 100% answer.

yeh the avant and saloon rear end is very similar, and the towbar should fit either.
