the central locking on the wifes A4 is hissing. I had a look at it yesterday and found the air leak which is coming from the n/s/are door so I've removed the door card and checked the vacuum pipe which is fine the air leak seams to be coming from the latch itself, to remove the latch I've got to strip the whole door down
So will I need a new latch or any other parts or is it a simple repair job,as I don't want to strip the door down to find I need parts and have to put it all back again till I get the new parts
has any one had this problem

Is it leaking from where the pipe connects or a totally different place on the latch ?? if its not from the connection id say you need a new latch if its from the pipe you maybe able to trim the pipe and reconnect to get a better seal !!

In the mean time, disconnect the pipe and seal the end.

If you leave it hissing you'll end up shattering the impeller in the pump.
