are face lift bumper brackets different to pre facelift?

as in the title are the facelift rear bumper brackets different to prefacelift?

have you got a picture? is the mounts in a different place on the crash bar?

Yes they are different unless, iirc, you have an S4 bumper as these all use the earlier type

I think they're talking about the side mounts, which are differnet for sure.

Your talking about where the bumper attaches to the shocks i assume?

Bumper shocks are the same arnt they ??? just side mounts are different, i just presumed he meant the norm side mounts lol either way i have both side and shocks !!

yea its the rear mounts not the side mounts im asking about.
my rear mounts arent on shocks there solid. has any one got a pic of a facelift rear mount?

They are all solid iirc they crush on impact as the welds are designed to crack to absorb impact and crumple !!

im mainly wondering if there's different bolt holes where they mount to the crash bar.
ive had a look on eBay at tow bars and they all look the same as mine. none of them had the extra brackets that ive highlited in this picture. so as I say I wondered if there was different style of mounts

yea my towbar hasn't come with these brackets... the bumper bar is held on with 4 big cable ties at present as I need the tow bar for tomorrow

yea im going to get a look at my mates and that way I will be able to get an idea on what I need to make up.
originally I was thinking there might have been a difference between PFL and FL towbars

not the clearest picture but this is an S4 bumper fixed to a Westfalia tow bar

cheers for that Ed wish I had got my finger out and got that off you when you had it up for sale

on the plus side used the A4 for towing today and the cable ties are still holding the bumper in place for the moment.
