My derv has a strange rattle

Hi all, I've noticed that my car is sounding more like a tractor than it should. I lifted the bonnet last night and it seems to be coming from around the turbo/flexipipe. I can't see anything obvious and smurf runs as she should, anyone shed some light on it?

could be the cat has broke up inside. when its turned off and cold see if you can give it a tap with something and see if it rattles

Thanks jb, with the engine running just put some light pressure on the flexi and the rattle stopped?

yea sounds like your cat has broke up. perfect excuse to take it off and get the gubbins from inside out

P.S I haven't forgot about the coilovers ive just not had a minute between kids in laws and 7 seaters

if you take all the crap out the cat it will give it a bit extra go and improve mpg slightly
what youre doing is taking away a restriction. and to be honest an older diesel doesn't really need it

It's the cat, looks like il be gutting it out then any ideas, or do I just mash up the insides until they all fall out?

So I decated the car buy guting the cat and still have a ting ting rattle, any ideas?

Does it still stop if you press on the exhaust?

No unfortunately not, it sounds like it is coming from the engine
