I don't think I've asked this before, I've looked and not found any thing.

Going by ETKA the B5 had the option of a heated steering wheel. I'm not that interested in fitting it but it would be cool. I'm just wondering if anyone has seen a B5 with one fitted and how you activated it.

Heated steering wheel, hmmmm could do with that up here :cold:

I shall watch this thread with interest!

Some information for you Paul.

Heated steering wheels was only an option on the 4 spoke MFSW not the better looking 3 spoke.
Part number:=-
4B0419091 CB, BT and BC.

There is one for sale in Germany from a A8 Audi A8 D2 Lenkrad Leder Lederlenkrad 4B0419091BC39H | eBay

Going by ETKA the part number ending with BC was fitted to the following:=-
A4 99-01
A4Q 99-01
A6 98-01
A6Q 98-01
A8 99-03
A8Q 99-03
RS4 00-02

BT is the same as above but not fitted to RS4s.
CB appears to have been fitted to A8Qs back in 94 but not the RS4 at all.

ETKA lists different Remarks code for each and I'm not sure what they mean.
Also, did the steering wheel spindle change between facelift and prefacelift?

spindle changed around 97...

Earlier wheels were the "big dots" style:

later wheels were "little dots" style:
