    Brake pads, which ones ??

Right im on mintex red box at the minute and because everyone runs ferodo pads (well not everyone) but seen as im going big brakes i thought il give them a try instead of mintex so im after some advice for part numbers for ferodo pads as im going to order them through work tomorrow ......

for the fronts im going B6 S4 345mm (just paid £180 for a set of calipers delivered) the original source wasnt replying to me guess he probably seen the two sets on ebay for £300+ lol so a new guy breaking one on ebay dealt with me at same price so happy days (so may have to get the B6 S4 alloys off him instead aswell lol)

Heres what i found for the Front pads - ferodo premiers - FDB1629

Rears will be 300mm with facelift S4 calipers and trig brackets (just need to replace a piston boot on one but doing both including the seals)

Heres what i found for the Rear pads - ferodo premiers (choice of 2) - FDB222 or FDB1788

Also i know that B5 S4 wheels go over this brake setup (not to sure if its with or without spacers) do you reckon the 8J boleros will go over or am i living in a dream land lol

I run the ferodo ds2500 pads on my s2000 now, had them on a few of my old cars too, they bite really well from cold and I've yet to suffer brake fade from them so I rate them very highly, would suggest using a good quality disc that isn't drilled or grooved, brembo or stop tech are good

I use Brembo discs and pads from nextdaybrakes.co.uk, even with track work I have been very pleased for a budget pad. I wasn't able to find a listing for the DS2500's for the A4 when I looked . My brother uses Performance Friction pads on his M3 and they seem to work very well indeed

Ferodo Premiers are a good choice for a road pad.

Fronts are correct for B6 S4 calipers

Rears are correct for the aluminium rear calipers on facelift B5 S4's. Iron rear calipers use the FDB222.

Cheers for that yeah just wanted to double check, i kind of gathered the FBD222 were for the other type as when looking at pictures the spring is higher up on the pad backing !

    At a guess, B6 are M12 and B5 are M10...

Not only that, but the lengths will be totally different as the B6 rear end is completely different to a B5.

Gerry at performancetek in Glasgow makes hel lines, he can supply any length and fitting that you need and is quite cheap, just tell him the length and fittings you need

I've found the new compound EBC yellow stuff pads to be a really good all rounder pad on my other cars. Prob a bit late but thought it was worth a mention
