I have a set of sl63 18" alloys on my b5 1.9 tdi and on the front it has 225/45/18 and on the wheels and with the drop ov given it, looks suburb. However on the rear the wheels are like 8-9j and its on 235/45/18 but the car is looking more like a hot rod then slammed. How do I cure this?

I was told putting 205/40/18 on the rear would cure it?

If I worked this out right.

Tyre 225/45/18
Side wall 123.75mm

Tyre 235/45/18
Side wall 129.25mm

Tyre 205/40/18
Side wall 122.4

I'd match the rear tyre to the front.
fitting a 205 on the rear will look even odder on 9j.

Is the rear a 9j, 8j or 8.5j?

On 18" wheels its recommended to fit 225/40/18.

Believe it to be 8.5 with when I got the wheels the rears came on 245/45/18

Thanks for the replies and advice guys, il get these when I have some pennies
