Hi there,

I'm interested in de-catting the car, and I think I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding just how many of them there are? :S

I've read about a pre-cat, a cat and a DPF; I didn't think diesels had cats as they would clog too easily?

Either case, I need to know which section of pipe needs replacing in order to eliminate all of the crap. I aim to keep the middle and back sections standard just in case I fancied replacing them at a later date.

Hope that all made sense! Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

As above, if a b5 FWD then it's one cat, if quattro it will have 2 cats. Neither has a pre-cat, only cars from 2001 onwards got a pre-cat !

Cheers guys! So it's a case of just removing the downpipe from the turbo and knocking it through?

Where's the DPF on these?
