Driving along today and the low coolant level light came on, stopped at the side of the road and found the bottle almost empty. I am unsure what could be the problem as I have changed the thermostat and coolant temp sensor and replaced all the coolant around 1500 miles ago. The temperature gauge stayed at 90 though.

There's no leaks at all but this is the first time it has happened so will have to monitor it.

Also when I stop after a journey and switch the engine off there's a strange gargling noise?

The possibilities are heater matrix or the impellers on the water pump are damaged/failed?

Any ideas?

Thanks J

could be an airlock making the gargling, if you have lost water, the pump stops pushing it around the system and its sitting still and boiling up. Sounds like it wasnt bled out properly when you did the work, and its now self bled and run low.

Pressure test the system and check for leaks.
