Tailgate recess trim

My taigate trim above the number plate has started to corrode/oxidise again i had this done roughly 2 years ago and the body shop who painted it said they would treat the metal to stop it doing it in the near future, now its started to do it again is there anything you guys could recommend or are they available from the dealers or is that an expensive route ??

I recently done mine, all I've done is sand down to bare metal spray it with a few coats of primer and wrapped it with 3M carbon fibre wrap. Not sure how long it'll last but 100% better than the paint bubbling up like before.

Acid dipped, full strip and powder coated should protect it.

Or just buy a PFL. Mines fine.

Just stripped mine down to bare metal and left it for now had to put it back in, quite like the look see how it goes. I did get a price from audi think it was about 40-50 plus vat but it was a few years ago also comes primed so you still have to paint

did mine about 5-6 years ago and it has just started to go again!
its on my list of painting jobs!

I just sanded mine down last week and murdered it for all types. Along with the grille surround and rings, wing mirrors and door handles.
