My front and rear pads are due, front discs are not very old so I am only doing pads for now. Has anyone found a good brake pad combination that is better than the standard pads?

...but expect increased noise, fluid overheating and disc wear. I got the discs lathed on the hub also, which compensates for heat stress on the disc from previous use. If you want to get maximum life and performance from your new pads you must either change the discs or lathe them, my experience of s4 oem rotors is they will warp badly no matter what you do to them and i cannot find a replacement in the UK.

I would stay away from EBC. If you want inexpensive go with Mintex Red Box. If you are willing to spend a little more, go with Pagid or Porterfield. They are by far the best pads available for the stock setup.

How do the Mintex red box compare to the standard brake pads? I'm in need of brake pads for my s4 and the original pads cost a TON.
