Hey guys. My 1998 afn engined a4 developed an issue on the way home tonight. While driving with the accelerator down I lost all power. The engine ran and idled but wouldn't rev. Almost like the accelerator was disconnected. The glow plug light was flashing too. Upon switching the engine off and restarting the car worked perfectly again. However, 10 minutes later the same fault appeared again. Happened about 30 times on the way home. Anyone experienced this before as I've no idea where to start looking?

that will be limp mode mate you prob need to run vcds on it to find the cause mine was the turbo vaines sticking

Ok thanks mate. Ill take it and have it plugged in tomorrow. Only did the oven cleaner in the turbo procedure end of last year

Its more than limp mode, throttle cut like that probably means the pedal sensor is faulty.

Fault codes will tell you whats going on though.
