The thing that costs money is the cable.
A genuine cable is about £260 from NHN.
You can buy Dumb VCDS cables from Ebay for about £10 and use Ross-Tech's VCDS Lite (Downloadable from Ross-Tech) to do some basic fault code checks, some logs and little other bits but its very limited. Its only meant as a sample of the full version to tempt you in to buying the full thing.

ok got my data lead and hardware disc downloaded the lite from ross tech is there anyone in southampton that can set it up and show a muppet<<me how to use it???? as not realy a comp person but slowly learning
