Control Module Part Number: 8D0 907 558 DA
    Component and/or Version: 1.8L R4/5VT MOTR HS D01
    Software Coding: 04201
    Work Shop Code: WSC 06325
    1 Fault Found:
    00561 - Mixture Adaptation
14-00 - Adaptation Limit (Add) Exceeded

im getting this after my battery went completly dead for over 24 hours,
i havent got the regestered software, so i guess i need to get to block 098 and readapt the throttle body.
read you can turn key on with drivers door and bonnet open for at least 3 minutes and it will do it its self?

i havent had trouble with idle, running, or any thing like that, other then the car relearning its idle point, and also running part and full throttle runs. been 2 days and code has come up twice.

throttle body sits at 3.5 degree and sits nicley at 840rpm, but lambda regulation shows 25% on block 007 at idle. if i touch the throttle, and hold at 2k rpm i get 0% to 2% any thing over that gives - reading on a wot run 3rd gear from 2k rpm i get -17. straight to 0% so dont think its the lambda, and the maf seems to be reading correctly and correcting ignition and fueling accordingly, but with out full vcds i can see any more then that
    thanks

    It suggests an air leak.

Check for split breathers and suchlike.

i never had that code before the battery died, and all hoses etc are ok.
tested with a boost leak tester yesterday that i made some time ago,

would that not have any relation to the throttle body?

would a blowing exhaust Create this cel. i think mines leaking between the cat and downpipe.
getting s/s exhaust end of month so i guess ill see if it disappears

if its not the airleak can it be the exhaust?

No, the code means you have an airleak, or perhaps a faulty maf or lambda. Its nothing to do with the throttle body.

Blowing exhaust could cause it yes, more likely if it was leaking between cat and turbo though, ie before the lambda...

yer going to have to see were its blowing, been getting poor mpg since the exhaust started blowing, so i guess its there somewere.
rosstech says blowing exhaust as a possible on that code. still ill double check airlines.

as i say i never had this code before the battery died

well i cant see were my system is blowing from, and to be fair it dosnt bother me as ill have a new system in 2 weeks.

so had another poke about and sure enough a vac leak, the hose was split from manifold to fpr, so dug out some silicone hose and replaced.
    would this explain bad mpg?

i also think my recirc valve is leaking but just a "think" as i do build to 18psi no problems. but guess i best disconnect it and see if every things ok. again im not fussed as im getting a 007 recirc in 2 weeks.

yep most likely, and that would have had double the effect as the fuel pressure wouldnt change with manifold pressure as well as leaking air in.

Why are you fitting a 007? They're less reliable than the stock valve and need regular maintenance. Just fit a new OEM 710N.

but i thought those valves were prone to leaking?

whats the better recirc valve? apart from the OEM 710N

was it the split r or the 008?

    edit:
also if the dv isnt recirc'ing the air would that give poor mpg? im talking 15mpg sometimes. was thinking the leaking exhaust was part to play but wondering as i get flutter on gear change so i know its not working as it should any more, i also disconnected and sealed taht vac hose for now. as the dv is right down between the fan and front engine cover
