Aftermarket avant and saloon rear shocks the same?

I was looking on a few websites at KW coilovers and they same part is listed for both the saloon and the avant. Are both compatible?

Also some listed the A4/S4/RS4 all as the same.

I know the V6 will be a lot heavier than the 1.8T but wonder if you could adjust the damping on the V3s to adjust for the less weight?

Just think it would be good to have some that fit more cars for if selling on etc.

I think the shocks are the same but springs are definitely different.

Like you said, V6 and avant is heavier and they have stiffer rear springs.

The damping isnt going to be ideal unless the shocks are adjustable.

I've got RS4 dampers and eibach springs on the Avant, and it feels a little on the stiff side, compared with my saloon on the same springs but eibach dampers.

Unfortunately few aftermarket companies make different parts for slight variations in model/spec, they just take a 1 size fits all approach.
